Nelson Email Organizer is a refreshing new interface for managing and searching email. It automatically organizes your email into easy-to-access views: by correspondent, date, mailing list, attachment and more. On-the-fly word indexing and a web-style search makes finding messages a breeze - search thousands of messages in just a second or two. An alternative interface for Microsoft Outlook email, NEO works with Outlook message stores and Microsoft Exchange Server mailboxes. You can compose, reply, forward, send and receive all from within NEO, and you can switch easily between NEO and Outlook whenever you like. Visit www.emailorganizer.com to see what our users and the press are saying. === NOTE IF USING OUTLOOK 2003 WITH EXCHANGE SERVER Cached Exchange Mode support, new to Outlook 2003 with Exchange Server, has not been implemented in NEO 2.5. Support for Cached Exchange Mode will be implemented in NEO 3.0 and NEO Pro 3.0 (final versions), but will not be implemented in NEO 2.5. If you are running in Cached Exchange Mode in NEO 2.5 (or in the BETA versions of NEO 3 or NEO Pro 3), we recommend you disable it if you wish to continue using NEO. === Registered users of versions 1.x and 2.0 can upgrade FREE-OF-CHARGE to version 2.5. This is a fully-functional product that will work for a period of thirty (30) days. Is there a cost to upgrade? -------------------------------------------------- No. Version 2.5 is a free upgrade for all registered users of v1.x, v2.0 and v2.5Beta. How will it affect my registration (license)? --------------------------------------------- If you are registered you will continue to be registered. If you are not registered the product will expire in 30 days unless you register. What if my license has already expired? --------------------------------------- If you download and install v2.5, you will auto- matically get another 30 days to try out NEO. Will my NEO data be affected if I upgrade? ------------------------------------------ No. This upgrade of NEO does not make any changes to your NEO data. Will my email data be affected? ------------------------------- NEO never affects your Outlook messages. NEO works by creating a separate catalog that organizes your messages. Is this the latest version of the software? ------------------------------------------- If you are on our mailing list you will receive an email notification whenever we update NEO. To get on the list, send an email to customercare@caelo.com or enter your name and email address when you download. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS =================== - Windows 95/98/Me, Win NT, Win 2000, or Win XP. - Microsoft Outlook 97, 98, 2000, 2002, 2003 installed. Notes: * Nelson Email Organizer does not work with Microsoft Outlook Express. * If using Exchange 2000 Server, the Microsoft Exchange Server Service Pack 2 must be installed. * Even though Microsoft Outlook must be installed on your computer, it does not need to be running to use NEO. NEO does not interfere with your use of Outlook in any way. * In Outlook 2003, with Exchange Server in Cached Mode, an existing defect requires you to perform a Full Sync each time NEO starts (if you use go offline). INSTALLATION NOTES ================== It is recommended that you install NEO using Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel. Although not always necessary, it is necessary when running some programs such as Terminal Server. Users *upgrading* from a previous version of NEO can install directly into their existing program location. 1. Do not uninstall NEO first. If you do, you will have to reset your preferences and may have to update your name folders. 2. Install the program into the same folder you installed the first version into. 3. We've made some changes to the user interface that you should be aware of. Current NEO users should be sure to read the "Customizing NEO" dialog when it appears. Start the program by double-clicking the Nelson shortcut on your desktop. Be sure to take the "10-minute Tour of NEO". It contains many of the new features. WHAT'S NEW IN THIS RELEASE ========================== Release 2.5 is contains some new productivity features but also significant improvements to synchronization, workflow automation and many user interface improvements were incorporated. Click "New features in this release" on the Welcome page of Help for details on each item. This is also available on the "Customizing NEO" dialog that appears when you start NEO. New to 2.5.1 Build 116 (December 19 2003) ------------------------------------------ * Three defects were fixed: 1. Outlook 2003 would sometimes freeze on startup if using Exchange. 2. Send/Receive sometimes does not run when NEO starts. 3. An error can occur when using Cached Mode on Exchange when disconnected from the network. New to 2.5.1 Build 111 (October 2 2003) ---------------------------------------- * NEO is now Compatible with Outlook 2003. Two defects related to Outlook 2003 fixed: 1. NEO Send/Receive toolbar button and F5 produces Outlook command not found error. 2. Offline stores (OST and cached mode) not working in OL2003. * No other changes were made in this build. New to 2.5.1!
